Our Coaches

Four coaches. Thirty combined years. Every one of them has been in the ring. They're not fitness influencers — they're the real thing.

Head Coach

Ray Montoya

Former Golden Gloves champion (El Paso, 2009 and 2011). Fourteen years coaching. Ray built Iron Border from scratch because El Paso fighters deserved a real gym — not a franchise with boxing gloves on the wall. He trains fighters competing at the regional amateur level. Tough but fair. Known for not letting people quit on themselves.

Coach Sandy Fuentes
Muay Thai Lead

Sandra "Sandy" Fuentes

Regional Muay Thai competitor with 8 years coaching. Sandy is the most technically precise instructor in the building. Her morning classes are the hardest you'll find in El Paso. Elbows, knees, clinch work — she teaches the art the way it was meant to be taught.

Strength & Conditioning

Marcus Webb

CSCS certified. Former D1 football player at UTEP. Marcus designed the conditioning program from the ground up — barbell, kettlebell, bodyweight circuits built around combat sports. His circuits have made people cry. They always come back.

Kids & Fundamentals

Dani Herrera

The most patient person in the building. Former amateur boxer, now focused entirely on youth development and beginner coaching. Dani doesn't just teach kids to box — she teaches them discipline, respect, and how to show up for themselves. Saturday mornings are her domain.
